At 14:16 on November 30, 2025, China Eastern Airlines (CEA) Flight MU2051 departed from Beijing Daxing International Airport for Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman. As the inaugural flight on the new Beijing Daxing-Muscat route, it carried 270 passengers, with the load factor exceeding 90%.

This new route is the first direct service between the two cities operated by a Chinese airline. Its launch not only offers Chinese travelers a new option for journeys to and from Oman, but also strengthens the regional air network and promotes personnel exchanges as well as economic and trade cooperation between China and Middle Eastern countries. Based on comprehensive assessments of market conditions and air route viability, CEA has deployed the Airbus A330, a large wide-body aircraft, for this service, operating one flight every Wednesday and Sunday. Outbound flight MU2051 departs from Beijing Daxing International Airport at 14:00 (Beijing Time) and arrives at Muscat International Airport at 19:55 (local time). The return flight MU2052 leaves Muscat at 21:55 (local time) and lands in Beijing at 10:00 the following day (Beijing Time). The one-way flight time is approximately 9 to 10 hours. (Please refer to China Eastern Airlines’ official channels for specific flight information.)

Friendly exchanges between China and the Sultanate of Oman have a long history. In recent years, bilateral economic and trade cooperation has progressed steadily, accompanied by increasingly active people-to-people exchanges. In May 2025, China introduced a trial visa-exemption policy for Oman, further facilitating two-way exchanges. Before the direct route opened, travelers between the two countries typically had to transit through cities such as Dubai, Doha or Istanbul, with a one-way trip taking nearly 24 hours. With the launch of the direct flight, travel efficiency has been greatly improved, reducing the journey to less than 10 hours. Passengers may also conveniently connect through Beijing Daxing International Airport and Muscat International Airport to nearby destinations in East Asia and the Middle East.
