Eight Powerball Players Share $200K Each, Jackpot Reaches $172M

(AsiaGameHub) –   While the Wednesday Powerball drawing did not produce a jackpot winner, more than a dozen players secured third-tier prizes, with eight individuals each winning $200,000 . Concurrently, the unclaimed jackpot has escalated to an estimated $172 million.

Powerball Awards Several $200K Prizes

The drawing on Tuesday featured a $155 million jackpot for Powerball players, which included a cash value of $68 million. To claim this significant prize, participants needed to match all five white balls and the red Powerball, which would have marked the sixth Powerball winner of 2026.

The winning numbers for the drawing on May 27 were 5, 14, 21, 31, and 51, with the red Powerball being 13. The Power Play multiplier for this drawing was 4x.

As noted, no ticket matched the complete winning combination, meaning there was no grand prize winner. Additionally, no player matched all five white balls without the Powerball to win a Match 5 prize.

However, the drawing was not without winners. Sixteen players matched four white numbers and the Powerball, earning the game’s third-tier prize. Eight of these fortunate players will receive substantial prizes of $50,000 each, while the other eight will each receive $200,000 due to the Power Play feature and the 4x multiplier.

Meanwhile, the jackpot has climbed to an estimated $172 million, with a cash value of $75.6 million available for the upcoming drawing. Players will have another opportunity to win this substantial prize this Saturday.

More Americans Win Big from Powerball

In recent drawings, two Match 5 prizes were awarded. One winner in West Virginia received $2 million with the Power Play option, and a player in California won $1 million, though the final prize amount for the latter may vary based on state lottery regulations.

Previously, a player in Virginia also won $2 million by utilizing the Power Play feature.

Regarding jackpots, Powerball has seen five grand prize winners in 2026. The most recent jackpot wins occurred at the end of April and the beginning of May, with two consecutive drawings yielding winners. Both of these jackpot wins involved multiple winners, meaning the prizes were shared.
