(AsiaGameHub) – Country music legend Dolly Parton has delivered disappointing news to her fans who were anticipating her upcoming Las Vegas residency performances. In a personal video message, the iconic „9 to 5“ singer explained that she requires additional time to recuperate before returning to the stage.
“Responding Really Well to Meds”
The 80-year-old artist informed her fans that while she is „responding really well to meds and treatments,“ she is not yet prepared for live performances.
“I have some good news and a little bad news,” she stated. “The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments and I’m improving every day. The bad news is it’s gonna take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level.”
Parton was scheduled to perform six shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas between September 17 and 26, 2026. These performances were sold out, and the residency had previously been postponed once from an earlier run planned for December 2025.
The entertainer elaborated that her medical team is optimistic about her recovery, notwithstanding the ongoing health challenges she is experiencing, which include kidney stones, as well as immune and digestive issues. Parton also mentioned that some of her medications have caused her to feel „a little bit swimmy-headed.“
“I am truly sorry that I’m going to miss all of you who had tickets to see me in Las Vegas,” she expressed. “Well, you get on to Vegas, and you have a big time… I’ll see you somewhere down the line.”
No Rescheduled Dates Yet
At this time, the six scheduled shows have not been rescheduled. Ticketmaster has indicated that customers who purchased tickets through their platform will receive refunds within two to three weeks.
This announcement comes after months of fan concern, following a social media post from Parton’s sister, Freida Parton, who had requested prayers for the singer.
Dolly later reassured her fans that her condition was not as severe as some had speculated, humorously remarking at the time, “I ain’t dead yet!”
Despite this delay, Parton conveyed that she remains in good spirits and is focused on her recovery, with the intention of returning to performing once she is fully prepared.
